Paediatric resuscitation training in resource-limited settings

A volunteer-led initiative delivering adaptable, evidence-based training to strengthen paediatric emergency care where it is needed most.

About PAIRS

PAIRS Group was founded to address the urgent need for accessible, evidence-based paediatric resuscitation training in resource-limited healthcare settings.

Traditional internationally accredited courses are often difficult to implement due to high cost, resource demands, and limited flexibility in curriculum design.

We created PAIRS Group to bridge that gap.

→ Who We Are

A volunteer team of paediatric medicine and resuscitation experts based in Ireland, united by a commitment to equitable access to training.

We work in partnership with healthcare teams in resource-constrained settings to deliver practical, locally relevant training.

→ What We Do

We focus on more than clinical skills. We prioritise communication, teamwork, and patient safety to improve outcomes for children.

Flexible training, built around local realities

  • Designed so teams can deliver training independently over time.

→ Our Approach

A context-specific approach

Healthcare systems in resource-limited settings face diverse challenges in infrastructure, equipment, and workforce capacity.

How Our Training Works

Provider Courses

Healthcare professionals develop practical paediatric assessment, resuscitation, teamwork and communication skills through context-specific training designed for resource-limited settings.

Train the Trainer

Experienced participants develop facilitation and teaching skills, enabling them to support future course delivery and mentor colleagues.

PAIRS ImPACT

Local faculty take ownership of programme delivery, allowing training to grow sustainably within healthcare systems and reducing reliance on external trainers.
